CLUB BUILDER

Successful teams thrive because everyone gives more than they take
HIGH VALUE ASSETS
RumbleFish Underwater Hockey is an amateur competitive sports team, the contribution of every member is critical to our success. It goes beyond just playing the game; it's about understanding the significance of the collective strength. This may require some self-reflection, a sense of self-awareness and a commitment that extends beyond the 25 metres of chlorine and challenging games that define our sport.

The dynamics within our club are governed by one fundamental principle: the balance between giving and taking. If players are consistently taking more than they contribute, others must step in to bridge the gap. This balance is at the core of most successful sports teams, thriving communities and relationships. Getting this balance wrong will often signify the beginning of the end of the relationship.

To be valued, respected and cared for within any group, including our club, one must actively seek ways to enrich and add value to that environment.
Sometimes, there are individuals who, often unintentionally, approach relationships with a mindset centered solely on meeting their own needs while giving little thought to what they can contribute in return.

The player who adds value, becomes valued, and a truly valued member of any community, team, or relationship is the one who makes a positive impact and puts their skills, effort, and energy toward the whole.

In the context of our competitive sports team adding value can include many things. It's about building your own skills and those of your teammates. It's about building mutual respect, trust, and friendship, where everyone is motivated to give their best. It's about showing up on time, pulling lane ropes, putting in goals, showing up consistently, understanding what creates successful games and practices and adding to that.

Moreover, it involves recognizing the significance of playing at away or travel tournaments as a team. These experiences can be pivotal in strengthening the bonds between teammates, promoting unity, and creating enduring memories. It's about weathering the challenges and celebrating the victories as a collective, creating a shared history that forges unbreakable connections.

For the experienced and skilled player, the journey doesn't end with personal success. Instead, it extends into the commitment to continue competing with the team and contributing your skill value to support the clubs competitive goals. If you use your local club to take social support and use their pool time for your practice but don't compete with them and turn up when you feel like it...it may be time for some self reflection.

Ultimately, adding value is a testament to one's character, integrity and dedication. It's a reflection of the understanding of the unspoken contract that underpins our collective efforts.

If you are not adding value to the team, what good are you?

 HOW CAN YOU ADD VALUE?
  1. Team Unity: Cultivate a positive attitude and camaraderie, support teammates and limit drama.
  2. Reliability: Punctuality and commitment to your responsibilities builds trust within the team.
  3. Financial Responsibility: Fulfill financial obligations promptly, investing in the team's growth.
  4. Financial Commitment: Pool time costs money, upfront; Clubs don't survive with drop in players
  5. Attendance Commitment: Each game requires 20 players; Games don't thrive with drop in players.
  6. Administrative Support: Offer skills in administration, management, marketing or finance.
  7. Sign up on Spond 72 hours ahead of time, If someone has to chase you that adds work.
  8. Facility Care: Every game you should be taking a lane rope, goal, puck or wall out and/or in.

  11. Sportsmanship: Don't cheat, have integrity, respect opponents, referees, and teammates.

Building a positive team culture and working together toward common objectives is essential for success.
